Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week is typically observed the week before Thanksgiving, and is meant to raise awareness about the pressing issues of hunger and homelessness, as well as poverty. The week is also a time to recognize the hard work of homelessness service providers, government partners, and community volunteers who work closely together to end homelessness in every part of our state. In honor of Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week, Partners in Care has sponsored the 2021 Hawaii Statewide Homeless Awareness Conference, Ho’ohanohano: Serving with Dignity, Honor and Distinction. In addition, Honolulu Hale and Aloha Tower will both be lit in purple in recognition of the week and the efforts of homelessness service providers statewide.
